Cape Town Market

Cape Town Market

Cape Town Market is one of the largest fresh produce markets in South
Africa.

When the market was privatised by the City of Cape Town in March 2004,
Altius made a successful bid, and is now the controlling shareholder.

Under the management of Altius, Cape Town Market has been transformed
into a highly successful business and major low cost distribution centre for
fresh produce.

In 2007, Altius sold 26% equity to Market Investments, a consortium of top South African farmers, and in 2010, service level agreements were introduced, making Cape Town Market the first fresh produce market in the world to have service level agreements regulating the provision of services to its clients.
