Trafalgar High School

Trafalgar High School
By 1911 education for Coloured
citizens of South Africa was limited to
the mission schools, and catered for primary education only.
Eventually, however, and after a great deal of hesitation by the Cape School Board, the Trafalgar A2 Public School was opened in District Six for secondary students in January of 1912.
Since then, and though lacking certain basic facilities, the school has
produced many eminent scholars, doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers,
business people and sportsmen.
The basic premise of Trafalgar High School is that education should be directed to the full development of the human personality, the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and to promoting understanding, tolerance and friendship amongst all people.
Altius is proud to be associated with this worthy institution.
